How to do a Somersault

How To Do a Somersault: Instructions
things you'll need:
You may need a mat, small toddler mattress or large piece of foam for practicing
1

Before you learn, you need to be able to do front drops, back drops and tuck jumps - PERFECTLY.
2

Hands and Knees

Learn to jump on your hands and knees
3

Tuck hard, and roll to your back

From the hands and knees position - TUCK, and roll on to your back
4

The aim, is to land on exactly the same spot as you took off. Your back, will land at the same spot as your knees
5

Now try to tuck so hard and fast that you almost land on your feet - BUT without traveling across the trampoline bed. Your feet and bottom land in the same spot as you knees where when they took off.

If you do not travel, you can move on to the next step...
6

From standing, (no bounce needed), list UP, TUCK and roll over to your bed, WITHOUT traveling across the bed. You back should now land where your feet where.
7

Now practice your TUCK Jump.
Imagine you are in a chimney... jumping up the chimney, you are going to TUCK at the very top of the jump, and then come back down the chimney.
The somersault is the same action. Jump UP the chimney, somerault at the top of the jump, and come back down that chimney.
8

Jump 3 time with you arms above your head, then perform a TUCK JUMP (fast) and land
9

Jump 3 times with your arms above your head, TUCK and ROLL over on to you back.
If you do not travel at all, you are ready to land your somersault.
10

Jump 3 time with your arms above your head, TUCK HARD AND FAST, landing the somersault on your feet
